The arrival of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer (fuel consumption combined: 6.0–4.1 litres per 100 km [47–68.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions: 139–109 g/km)* sees BMW expand its portfolio into another new model segment. The newcomer in the premium compact class skilfully blends comfort and functionality of space with the trademark BMW strengths of dynamism, style and elegance. Following on from the Coupe as the second member of the new BMW 2 Series range, the harmoniously proportioned Active Tourer oozes sportiness from every angle. Measuring just 4,342 millimetres long, 1,800 millimetres wide and 1,555 millimetres in height, it combines compact dimensions on the outside with a strikingly spacious feel on the inside, making it perfectly suited to cope with the growing challenges of urban mobility.
New turbocharged engines with three and four cylinders, a comprehensive package of BMW EfficientDynamics measures and the extensive connectivity provided by BMW ConnectedDrive are all formative elements in a driving experience that centres on sporty performance and exemplary efficiency.
Dynamism und functionality of space brought together in classic BMW fashion.
In order to achieve a particularly high level of versatility and functionality in the premium compact class, special design concepts are needed. BMW has therefore opted for a sophisticated front-wheel-drive system for the 2 Series Active Tourer that is able to deliver the degree of driver engagement expected of the brand’s models. Together with the long wheelbase of 2,670 millimetres and raised roofline, this configuration enables the room inside to be maximised, resulting in an unprecedented feeling of spaciousness. Driver and front passenger enjoy a far higher seating position than in a sedan, which affords a commanding all-round view at the same time as making it easier to get in and out. The wealth of storage facilities and the option of a fold-flat passenger seat backrest are just two examples of the interior’s impressive flexibility and cleverly devised layout. The cabin has a light and spacious feel to it, with all surfaces horizontally structured in a layered look. There is also the option of a large panoramic roof that lets light flood into the interior. The brand identity with its overriding sense of dynamism is clearly present in the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer too. It shines through in trademark features such as the slightly forward-slanting BMW kidney grille at the front end flanked by the distinctive twin circular headlights. The short front overhang in particular is highly unusual for a front-wheel-drive car, and is just as much a classic BMW styling cue as the short overhang at the rear, the long wheelbase, the Hofmeister kink in the rear side windows and the L-shaped rear lights. Crisp contours and an eye-catching swage line at the sides give added impact to the wheel arches and inject the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer with forward thrust even when stationary. Moving inside, the controls for the radio, air conditioning and air vents are angled towards the driver in another unmistakable BMW design trait.
Maximum versatility and functionality.
The versatile luggage compartment, whose capacity can be enlarged from 468 to 1,510 litres, and the 40:20:40 split-folding rear backrest fitted as standard exemplify this model’s excellent everyday practicality. Flexibility is further enhanced by a sliding rear seat, allowing either kneeroom or luggage space to be increased as required. One particularly smart touch is the foldable boot floor that conceals a storage compartment with a handy multifunction tray. The rear backrest can be adjusted to offer either added comfort for the three rear seats or extra luggage space. Access to the luggage compartment couldn't be easier thanks to the large, broad, wide-opening tailgate, which can furthermore be optionally specified with pushbutton automatic opening and closing or the Smart Opener function for supreme ease of operation with a quick flick of the foot.
Latest-generation engines running on three or four cylinders.
The new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is being launched with a choice of three powerful, light and fuel-efficient three and four-cylinder drive units that form part of a new generation of engines. They are installed transversely and boast a compact design along with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, at the same time as complying with the EU6 emissions standard.
The new three-cylinder petrol unit stands out for its exceptional efficiency and great performance abilities. This cutting-edge powerplant is receiving its premiere in a model from the BMW core brand in the guise of the BMW 218i Active Tourer (fuel consumption urban/extra-urban/combined: 6.1/4.2/4.9 l/100 km [46.3/67.2/57.6 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 115 g/km)* with a six-speed manual gearbox. The engine has a displacement of 1.5 litres, generates 100 kW/136 hp and excels with its spontaneous throttle response, hearty appetite for revs and high pulling power. The design of three-cylinder engines means they are not subject to first and second-order inertia forces, while the balancer shaft included on the BMW unit ensures that it operates even more smoothly over the entire rev range.
Topping the bill at market launch is the BMW 225i Active Tourer (fuel consumption urban/extra-urban/combined: 7.6/5.0/6.0 l/100 km [37.1/56.5/47 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 139 g/km)*. With an output of 170 kW/231 hp, a time of 6.8 seconds* for the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) dash and a top speed of 235 km/h* (146 mph), the model’s four-cylinder engine raises the bar for dynamic performance in its class.
Hard at work under the bonnet of the BMW 218d Active Tourer (fuel consumption urban/extra-urban/combined: 5.0/3.6/4.1 l/100 km [56.5/78.4/68.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 109 g/km)* is a four-cylinder diesel engine. A member of the same new engine family as its two petrol counterparts, it delivers 110 kW/150 hp while mustering up a peak torque of 330 Nm (243 lb-ft). This powerpack serves to reaffirm the exceptionally dynamic performance qualities of diesel engines from BMW, propelling the BMW 218d Active Tourer from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.9 seconds* and on to a top speed of 205 km/h (127 mph)*.
The BMW among front-wheel-drive cars.
Like all BMW models, the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer makes its mark with great driving dynamics and the sort of driving experience the brand is renowned for. The newly developed chassis, comprising a single-joint spring strut axle at the front and a multi-link rear axle, combines agility and directional precision with excellent handling stability and suspension comfort. The front drive axle in the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer has undergone extensive fine-tuning, ensuring that it endows the car with optimum driving dynamics and wonderfully precise steering feedback. The electromechanical steering and the system’s functional arrangement combine to produce a driving sensation that is devoid of interfering torque steer.
The intelligent use of high-tensile and ultra-high-tensile multi-phase steels makes a decisive contribution to safety standards in the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, while also helping to keep the vehicle’s weight down. Apart from being a crucial factor in the model’s exceptional driving dynamics, this lightweight engineering is just one among many BMW EfficientDynamics technology elements. These also include the Auto Start Stop function, Brake Energy Regeneration, Optimum Gearshift Indicator, on-demand operation of ancillary units and the integral Air Curtain, which uses two vertical air inlets in the front bumper to direct the airstream along the front wheels.
M Sport package for maximum presence.
Besides the standard trim, two further equipment lines both allow owners to put an individual slant on the interior and exterior. The Sport Line places the emphasis on the dynamic side, while the Luxury Line is all about elegance and exclusiveness. The M Sport package that will be available from November opens up even greater scope for customisation. An M Aerodynamics package, M Sport suspension and 17 or 18-inch M light-alloy wheels on the outside are complemented by an M leather steering wheel and specially upholstered sports seats in the interior to maximise the on-road presence of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. The range will be extended from late autumn to include variants equipped with the xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system.
High degree of connectivity for enhanced safety and comfort.
Standards of safety and comfort aboard the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer are boosted by the assistance systems and various infotainment features that are collectively known as BMW ConnectedDrive. Take, for instance, the Traffic Jam Assistant or the camera-based cruise control system with Stop & Go function, which both work using a mono camera. They assist with accelerating and braking (longitudinal guidance) as well as steering (lateral guidance with the Traffic Jam Assistant), at the same time as relieving the driver of monotonous tasks, such as when driving in a queue of traffic on the motorway or in heavy city-centre traffic.
BMW ConnectedDrive Services & Apps bring smartphone applications into the vehicle and allow innovative features like the Concierge Service or Real Time Traffic Information to be added. These can also be booked at a later date and, in many cases, for flexible periods of time. In this way, the functionality of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer can be vastly enhanced and updated by the owner at any time.
The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is the first model in the premium compact class to be made available with a Head-Up Display, which projects all relevant driving information into the driver’s field of vision in full colour. Instead of being displayed on the windscreen itself, the information is shown on a screen that extends out between the steering wheel and windscreen. This enables drivers to view all key information without having to divert their attention from the road.

Πλέον ντρέπομαι που είμαι οπαδός αυτής της φίρμας......το "αυτοκίνητο" αυτό είναι η ταφόπλακα στην ένδοξη ιστορία της BMW....να το χαίρονται οι σχεδιαστές, οι μηχανικοί και οι μαρκετίστες....για τους μελλοντικούς ιδιοκτήτες δε θα σχολιάσω καν....αυτά!

Είπα να μην μιλήσω για το συγκεκριμένο αυτοκίνητο.

Μου θυμίζει αυτό το ζωάκι το οποίο είναι γλυκύτατο, αλλά σαν σχέδιο για αμάξι τραγικό.

Είναι χειρότερο από την ανταγωνίστρια Β class, είναι απορίας άξιο, πως άλλες εταιρείες καταφέρνουν να κάνουν ένα παρόμοιο όχημα πολύ πιο όμορφο (π.χ. opel meriva).

Και είναι και προσθιοκίνητο....ε όχι.....1000 φορές hyundai i30.

Ο Πάνος, εννοεί ότι δεν θα έπρεπε να υπάρχει τέτοιο μοντέλο στην γκάμα.

νέο i3...το είδα πριν 15 μέρες στο γκαράζ μου (κάποιο όχημα εξυπηρέτησης). Ηλεκτρικός κουβάς (μίνι ιπποπόταμος επίσης και 40χιλιάρικα).

Μην είμαστε όμως κοντόφθαλμοι.

Γνωρίζατε κάποιον που να είχε 911 όταν παρουσιάστηκε το boxster? Ξέρετε τι έπαθαν οι οπαδοί της φίρμας όταν παρουσιάστηκε το cayenne? Χωρίς αυτά τα 2 θα είχε κλείσει το μαγαζί αλλά τώρα μπορεί και φτιάχνει πραγματικά διαστημικά αυτοκίνητα.

Γνωρίζετε ότι τα τελευταία 3 χρόνια στις αρχές ΚΑΘΕ μήνα η BMW εκδίδει press release όπου αναφέρεται πως ο μήνας που μόλις πέρασε ήταν ο καλύτερος μήνας για τις πωλήσεις της εταιρίας?

Είναι πολύ εύκολο να κατακρίνουμε τα πάντα αλλά και η BMW μαγαζί είναι και πρέπει να πουλά και να κερδίζει.

Από τη στιγμή, που η γκάμα γεμίζει με υπέροχα οχήματα για όσους έχουν.

-νέα σειρά 3
-νέα σειρά 4 υπερτούμπανο
-5άρα τέλεια
-6άρα πολύ ωραία
-6 gran coupe ΥΠΕΡΟΧΗ
-7άρα ωραία
-σειρά 1 εύπεπτη και καλά μοτέρ.

Τι τα θέλουν τα αυγά?
Θα χάνανε κερδοφορία, όχι.

Η BMW την οδήγηση την ''είχε'' πάντα. Απλά είχε και τη σχεδίαση και την ποιότητα.
Γενικά η BMW πόνταρε πολύ σε δόγματα.

- Αίσθηση στην οδήγηση
- Ατμοσφαιρικοί κινητήρες
- Πίσω κίνηση
- (Εμφάνιση πάντα ενδιαφέρουσα εώς συγκλονιστική ακόμα και σε απλά αυτοκίνητα πχ. σειρές 3)
- Γερμανική ποιότητα (τέλοσπάντων ότι πιστεύει ο καθένας, αλλά ήταν ''δόγμα'').

Ε...λογικό είναι όταν τηρείς τα ''δόγματα'' επί δεκαετίες, να δημιουργείς φανατικούς φίλους και θαυμαστές.
Οι οποίοι όταν αρχίζουν οι ''μοντερνισμοί'' να αντιδρούν.


Το ότι υπάρχει κριτική για τα εμετικά οχήματα, σημαίνει ότι ΑΚΟΜΑ είμαστε φίλοι της BMW.

Δεν ασχολούμαι με το νέο VW Up ή το νέο Audi S1kuba edition, ή αν το νέο Fabia ή το Rapid είναι αίσχος. Η BMW μας πειράζει όμως, να βλέπουμε αυτά στη γκάμα.

Καλό δείγμα είναι αυτό. :embarassm

Ποτε δεν μου κολλαγε η BMW να μπει σε αυτη την κατηγορια. Τελικα το εκανε και αυτο και βαζει και την κινηση μπροστα. Αντε και στα pick up ευχομαι στο βωμο του marketing. Ευτυχως που βγαζει που και που κανενα αμαξι οπως το 1Μ και μας θυμιζει γιατι μας αρεσει αυτη η εταιρια.

Διαφωνώ με όλους σας για τα αρνητικά σχόλια για το συγκεκριμένο όχημα της BMW.......εφόσον βέβαια θα βγει σε 7θέσιο, για να χαρούμε κι εμείς οι large ρε παιδιά και να ξεφύγουμε από τα Ford.....:dupe:

Γιατί?

Εφόσον η εταιρία σου δίνει την επιλογή να διαλέξεις από ένα τεράστιο portfolio που καλύπτει όλα τα γούστα με τα γνώριμα χαρακτηριστικά μιας BMW, γιατί δεν πρέπει να υπάρχει?

Ο στόχος μιας εταιρίας για την επιβίωση είναι η κερδοφορία και δεν πρόκειται να τη πετύχεις εάν δε κάνεις diversification.

Είδαμε και τα χάλια της Saab που έμεινε με 1-2 μοντέλα ή της Alfa Romeo...

Η BMW τις δεκαετίες 70-80-90, είχε αποκλειστικά μοντέλα που ήταν κατά 100% αποδεκτά και ποθητά ακόμα και από ανθρώπους που δεν είχαν σκοπό να τα αγοράσουν.

Δηλαδή....πριν 20 χρόνια, από το 3άρι μέχρι το 7άρι, ήταν όλα τα μοντέλα αποδεκτά εξολοκλήρου.

Τώρα η γκάμα περιλαμβάνει τουλάχιστον 3 μοντέλα αδιάφορα ή ανούσια.

Εξηγούμαι:
-σειρά 1
-σειρά 2
-σειρά 3 (και SW)
-σειρά 4
-σειρά 5 (και SW)
-σειρά 6
-σειρά 6 gran coupe
-σειρά 7
-σειρά χ1
-σειρά χ3
-σειρά χ5
-σειρά χ6.
-σειρά Ζ4
Όλες υπέροχες για την κατηγορία τους.

Μιλάμε για υπερπλήρη γκάμα μικρομεσαίου, οικογενειακού μεσαίου και μεγάλου, σπορτίφ, πολυτελούς, πολυτελούς σπορ, πολυτελούς σπορ 4θέσιου, SUV κάθε μεγέθους και σπορ καθώς και roadster.

Δε μιλάμε για εταιρείες που είχαν 1 ή 2 μοντέλα όλα και όλα. Μιλάμε για 15 σειρές ξεχωριστές ευδιάκριτα μεταξύ τους που καλύπτουν διαφορετικές ανάγκες, τονίζοντας το ''σπορτιφ'' (και πολυτελή ενίοτε) χαρακτήρα της εταιρείας.
Υπ'όψη δε βάζω τα ///Μ που τα θεωρώ ξεχωριστά αλλά με βάση τις υπάρχουσες σειρές.

Η κερδοφορία θα έλθει από την 5GT και τη σειρά 2 AT?
Ο καθένας με την άποψη του... Κάποτε οι εταιρείες με το ''όνομα και τη χάρη'', το δημιούργησαν (το όνομα) γιατί δεν έφτιαχναν ότι νάναι και όλα τα μοντέλα τους ανεξαιρέτως ήταν ποθητά και κατανοητά.

Η εταιρεία δε θα χαλάσει το όνομα της και τη χάρη της με τα 2 μπαούλα.

Απλά λέμε ότι ήταν αχρειάστα το αντι-ford b-max (και ασχημότερο μάλιστα) και το 5αρι μπαούλο αίσχος.
Για ποιό λόγο να μην πάρει κάποιος μια 3άρα Station?
To 5GT?
Για ποιό λόγο να το προτιμήσει κάποιος από ένα 5 Station ή ένα X5?

Τη στιγμή που καλύπτεις όλες τις ανάγκες, από ηλεκτρικό πόλης μέχρι αυτοκίνητο για πίστα, κανένα όνομα δε χαλάς.

Αυτή τη συζήτηση θα τη κάναμε αν δεν υπήρχαν τα Μ διαμάντια, τα Μ-Performance και τα hi-end 2λτ και 3λτ.

Ο λόγος που ενδεχομένως θα προτιμήσει κάποιος ένα τέτοιο όχημα έναντι των 3er, 5er, X5 είναι προφανέστατα το κόστος και ο όγκος/μήκος.

Από τη στιγμή που δεν είμαστε μέσα στη φίρμα, κάνουμε υποθέσεις για τι είναι κερδοφόρο και τι όχι.

Προσωπικά δε με ενοχλεί καθόλου ένα τέτοιο αυτοκίνητο τη στιγμή που μπορώ στο γκαράζ μου να έχω κι ένα Μ3/Μ4 ή μια Μ235i.

Οι εταιρίες εξελίσσονται και δε μένουν στο παρελθόν ντιμ...

Together with the long wheelbase of 2,670 millimetres and raised roofline, this configuration enables the room inside to be maximised, resulting in an unprecedented feeling of spaciousness. Driver and front passenger enjoy a far higher seating position than in a sedan, which affords a commanding all-round view at the same time as making it easier to get in and out. The wealth of storage facilities and the option of a fold-flat passenger seat backrest are just two examples of the interior’s impressive flexibility and cleverly devised layout. The cabin has a light and spacious feel to it, with all surfaces horizontally structured in a layered look. There is also the option of a large panoramic roof that lets light flood into the interior.
The brand identity with its overriding sense of dynamism is clearly present in the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer too. It shines through in trademark features such as the slightly forward-slanting BMW kidney grille at the front end flanked by the distinctive twin circular headlights. The short front overhang in particular is highly unusual for a front-wheel-drive car, and is just as much a classic BMW styling cue as the short overhang at the rear, the long wheelbase, the Hofmeister kink in the rear side windows and the L-shaped rear lights. Crisp contours and an eye-catching swage line at the sides give added impact to the wheel arches and inject the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer with forward thrust even when stationary. Moving inside, the controls for the radio, air conditioning and air vents are angled towards the driver in another unmistakable BMW design trait.
Maximum versatility and functionality.
The versatile luggage compartment, whose capacity can be enlarged from 468 to 1,510 litres, and the 40:20:40 split-folding rear backrest fitted as standard exemplify this model’s excellent everyday practicality. Flexibility is further enhanced by a sliding rear seat which allows legroom in the rear or the load compartment capacity to be increased as required. One particularly smart touch is the foldable boot floor that conceals a storage compartment with a handy multifunction tray. The rear backrest can be adjusted as an option to offer either added comfort for the three rear seats or extra luggage space. Access to the luggage compartment couldn't be easier thanks to the large, broad, wide-opening tailgate. This can be optionally specified with pushbutton automatic opening and closing or – for supreme ease – touchless gesture control.
Latest-generation engines running on three or four cylinders.
The new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is being launched with a choice of three powerful, light and fuel-efficient three and four-cylinder drive units that form part of a new generation of engines. They are installed transversely and boast a compact design along with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, at the same time as complying with the EU6 emissions standard.
The new three-cylinder petrol unit stands out for its exceptional efficiency and great performance abilities. This cutting-edge powerplant is receiving its premiere in a model from the BMW core brand in the guise of the BMW 218i Active Tourer (fuel consumption combined: 5.2–4.9 l/100 km [54.3–57.6 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 120–115 g/km) with six-speed manual gearbox.
The engine has a displacement of 1.5 litres, generates 100 kW/136 hp and excels with its spontaneous throttle response, hearty appetite for revs and high pulling power. The design of three-cylinder engines means they are not subject to first and second-order inertia forces, while the balancer shaft included on the BMW unit ensures that it operates even more smoothly over the entire rev range.
Topping the bill at market launch is the BMW 225i Active Tourer (fuel consumption combined: 6.0–5.8 l/100 km [47.1–48.7 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 139–135 g/km)* with a standard-fitted eight-speed Steptronic gearbox. With an output of 170 kW/231 hp, a time of 6.6 seconds for the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) dash and a top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph), the model’s four-cylinder engine raises the bar for dynamic performance in its class.
Hard at work under the bonnet of the BMW 218d Active Tourer (fuel consumption combined: 4.3–4.1 l/100 km [65.7–68.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 114–109 g/km)* is a four-cylinder diesel engine. A member of the same new engine family as its two petrol counterparts, it delivers 110 kW/150 hp while mustering up peak torque of 330 Nm (243 lb-ft). This powerpack serves to reaffirm the exceptionally dynamic performance qualities of diesel engines from BMW, propelling the BMW 218d Active Tourer with standard six-speed manual gearbox from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 208 km/h (129 mph). An eight-speed Steptronic gearbox will be available as an option for this model variant.
The BMW among front-wheel-drive cars.
Like all BMW models, the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer makes its mark with great driving dynamics and the sort of driving experience the brand is renowned for. The newly developed chassis, comprising a single-joint spring strut axle at the front and a multi-link rear axle, combines agility and directional precision with excellent handling stability and suspension comfort. The front drive axle in the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer has undergone extensive fine-tuning, ensuring that it endows the car with optimum driving dynamics and wonderfully precise steering feedback. The electromechanical steering and the system’s functional arrangement combine to produce a driving sensation that is devoid of interfering torque steer.
The intelligent use of high-tensile and ultra-high-tensile multi-phase steels makes a decisive contribution to safety standards in the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, while also helping to keep the vehicle’s weight down. Apart from being a crucial factor in the model’s exceptional driving dynamics, this lightweight engineering is just one among many BMW EfficientDynamics technology elements. These also include the Auto Start Stop function, Brake Energy Regeneration, Optimum Gearshift Indicator, on-demand operation of ancillary units and the integral Air Curtain, which uses two vertical air inlets in the front bumper to direct the airstream along the front wheels.
Five model variants designed to meet individual customer requirements.
In addition to the standard model, BMW also offers the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer in four other variants with an interior, exterior and specification tailored even more closely to customer requirements. Standard equipment for the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer already comprises the Radio Professional including a hands-free telephone facility with Bluetooth interface, the BMW iDrive control system with controller on the centre console and 6.5-inch Control Display, a rain sensor and automatic headlight activation, a sports leather steering wheel, the Intelligent Emergency Call system and Collision Warning with City Braking function. The Advantage, Sport Line and Luxury Line variants also feature two-zone automatic climate control, Park Distance Control at the rear, front foglamps, cruise control with braking function and a multifunction steering wheel.
The Sport Line model highlights the dynamic character of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer with special alloy wheels and sports seats. The high-gloss black kidney grille bars, model-specific air intakes and the accent strip on the rear apron underline the car’s presence. And in keeping with the look, the exhaust tailpipe comes in an electroplated black chrome finish.
The Luxury Line model majors on elegance and exclusivity, as underlined by subtle chrome applications for the exterior before you climb aboard and the exquisite leather trim including heated seats for the driver and front passenger once inside.
The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer will also be available with the M Sport specification from the end of 2014. With its M aerodynamics package, High-gloss Shadow Line trim, M Sport suspension, 17 or 18-inch M light-alloy wheels, M leather steering wheel and sports seats with bespoke upholstery, the M Sport model of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer displays unbeatable road presence. The launch of the M Sport model will coincide with the addition to the range of variants equipped with the intelligent all-wheel-drive system xDrive. The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer will be available in Germany from 27 September 2014 priced from €27,200.
High degree of connectivity for enhanced safety and comfort.
Standards of safety and comfort aboard the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer are boosted by the assistance systems and various infotainment features that are collectively known as BMW ConnectedDrive. Take, for instance, the Traffic Jam Assistant, which works using a mono camera. It makes motorway driving less stressful under monotonous conditions: in dense traffic at speeds of up to 60 km/h (37 mph) it lets the car “go with the flow”, enabling the driver to progress through the congestion in a more relaxed state. It automatically maintains the desired distance from the vehicle ahead and autonomously controls the car’s speed all the way to a standstill while providing active steering input. In this way the vehicle helps drivers to stay in lane as long as they keep at least one hand on the steering wheel.
BMW ConnectedDrive Services & Apps bring smartphone applications into the vehicle and allow innovative features like the Concierge Service or Real Time Traffic Information to be added. These can also be booked at a later date and, in many cases, for flexible periods of time. In this way, the functionality of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer can be vastly enhanced and updated by the owner at any time.
The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is the first model in the premium compact class to be made available with a Head-Up Display, which projects all relevant driving information into the driver’s field of vision in full colour. Instead of being displayed on the windscreen itself, the information is shown on a screen that extends out between the steering wheel and windscreen. This enables drivers to view all key information without having to divert their attention from the road.

Θα συμφωνήσω για την αγελάδα. Το αυτοκίνητο σχεδιαστικά μου είναι πιο αδιάφορο και απο Opel και δεν πίστευτα οτι θα το έλεγα αυτό ποτέ.

Όσο για την κίνηση μπροστά.... ασχολίαστο.

Munich. Since the premiere of the first four-wheel drive BMW 325i in 1985, BMW has consistently expanded its four-wheel drive competence with new models and constant further development in the field of drive technology. One of the milestones is undoubtedly the intelligent four-wheel drive system BMW xDrive, which was first used in the BMW X3 and the X5 in 2004 and is now available for numerous models and series. Even at that time, engineers did not focus solely on improving traction and vehicle stability. In addition to a high degree of functionality and enhanced cornering dynamics, the minimisation of system-related losses and constant weight reduction are top priorities set to keep the fuel consumption and emission levels of four-wheel drive vehicles as low as possible. To this end, the intelligent four-wheel drive system BMW xDrive is always aligned to each vehicle concept (Sedan/Coupe, SAV, SAC) with the aim of implementing the optimum solution.
Premiere: BMW xDrive complements front-wheel drive concept.
The latest example of model-specific alignment of the four-wheel drive system is provided by the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. The fundamental difference to previous variants is that, for the first time, BMW xDrive is premised on a front-wheel drive concept with transversally installed engines. The Active Tourer has already proven that front-wheel drive technology fully meets the brand’s demands in terms of driving dynamics. This is largely owed to the new range of modularly constructed three- and four-cylinder engines which, thanks to state-of-the-art TwinPower Turbo technology, excel to an equal extent through high performance characteristics and outstanding efficiency. With the BMW 225i xDrive Active Tourer (fuel consumption combined: 6,5–6,4 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 152-148 g/km)* and the BMW 220d xDrive Active Tourer (fuel consumption combined: 4,8-4,6 l/100km; CO2 emissions combined: 127-122 g/km)*, the intelligent four-wheel drive system is now available for top-of-the-range power units to further improve traction, vehicle stability and cornering dynamics, with the aim of enhancing safety and driving pleasure. Both models feature BMW xDrive as standard in combination with the 8-speed Steptronic transmission.
Slender, lightweight four-wheel architecture.
The slender architecture featuring compact, lightweight components and the resulting low amount of space required by the new four-wheel drive system are excellently suited to the concept of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. Thus the additional weight of the entire four-wheel drive technology is only around 61 kg. Furthermore, measures for reducing system-related losses and an energy-efficient operating strategy ensure extremely favourable fuel consumption and emission levels.
Power from the front drive to the rear axle is transferred by means of an angular gear (Power Take-Off) on the front differential and a two-part cardan shaft. The central component of the four-wheel drive system is an electro-hydraulically controlled multiple-disk clutch (Hang-On) inside the rear axle drive, which facilitates infinitely variable distribution of torque to the front and rear wheels. The corresponding commands are provided by an electronic control unit which, like the hydraulic pump, is located on the rear axle.
Power Take-Off: angular gear and two-part cardan shaft.
The angular gear is mounted behind the engine on the automatic transmission and crankcase. The input shaft is a hollow shaft construction and directly connected to the front axle differential. In this way, part of the drive force is transferred from the differential basket to the cardan shaft via the hollow shaft, the crown wheel and the pinion shaft. The angular gear operates at a fixed gear ratio (1:1.74) and is permanently engaged, meaning that the cardan shaft always rotates when the vehicle is driven. Reversal of transmission takes place in the rear axle drive so that the front and rear axle drive shafts both rotate at exactly the same speed.
Hang-On: electro-hydraulically controlled multiple-disk clutch.
The multiple-disk clutch located in the rear axle drive (Hang-On) directs a proportion of torque to the rear wheels according to each driving situation, thus ensuring variable power distribution between the front and rear axle as required. In extreme cases (e.g. the front wheels are standing on ice), the ratio can be 0:100. The required operating pressure (0 to 40 bar) is delivered by an electro-hydraulic pump, the speed of which is defined by a pulse-width-modulated signal from the electronic control unit. Pressure is not measured by a sensor, but extremely accurately by means of voltage and power alignment. In order to ensure maximum positioning accuracy, run-in behaviour and temperature influences are independently compensated, the system constantly adapting to ever changing operating conditions.
Efficient valve helps reduce fuel consumption.
Moreover, xDrive utilises an energy-efficient operating strategy: When four-wheel drive is not required – which is usually the case in day-to-day operation – the pump is deactivated, rendering the system unpressurised. The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is then driven only via the front wheels. In order to make use of additional saving potentials, BMW has provided the multiple-disk clutch with a spring-loaded Efficient valve, which lowers the oil level in the clutch and significantly reduces friction losses (oil splash losses). When required, the system takes only fractions of a second to build up maximum operating pressure in the Efficient mode and thus deliver maximum torque to the rear wheels. This intervention goes unnoticed by the driver and passengers and without any losses in traction.
Intelligent networking: fast, precise and proactive.
In order to guarantee efficient and constant power distribution to the front and rear axle as required, the four-wheel drive system is managed from the control unit of the Dynamic Stability Control feature (DSC). In order to analyse each driving situation, DSC analyses a large amount of data providing information on each respective running condition and ensuring optimum distribution of drive torque. This information includes vehicle speed, lateral and longitudinal acceleration, steering angle, wheel speed, longitudinal inclination, accelerator position and the setup via Driving Experience Control. Furthermore, the DSC status, including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC) and Performance Control is taken into account. Adjustment of the four-wheel drive system to the ever changing driving and road conditions is performed – in typical BMW xDrive manner – within fractions of a second, thus guaranteeing consistently neutral and safe handling even in difficult conditions. Nevertheless, the variable distribution of power between the two axles goes virtually unnoticed by the driver. Also, within the framework of the efficient operating strategy, torque distribution is precisely regulated as to avoid any loss of power due to wheel spin.
BMW xDrive: maximum traction, enhanced cornering dynamics.
Thanks to DSC networking, any imminent wheel slip for example can be detected at an early stage. Through precise distribution of drive torque this situation can be anticipated and avoided. If for instance the vehicle threatens to drift outwards over the front wheels, increased tractive force is supplied to the rear axle, allowing the vehicle to turn in more accurately. On the other hand, xDrive directs excess force to the front wheels, should the rear of the vehicle threaten to swerve outwards. As a result, maximum four-wheel performance is available even before slippage occurs. Therefore, xDrive featured in the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer not only ensures best possible traction and safety in adverse road conditions, but also enhances vehicle stability, cornering dynamics and ride comfort. In driving situations where the interconnection of all four wheels is disadvantageous – i.e. in an emergency stop – the system opens the multiple-disk clutch completely within milliseconds.
Only if optimum power distribution to the front and rear axle is not sufficient to keep the Active Tourer on the desired course, DSC intervenes by reducing engine output and/or by decelerating individual wheels. Moreover, DSC assumes the function of a transverse differential lock: If a wheel spins without transferring power, it is automatically slowed down, whereby the axle differential directs more power to the wheel opposite.

Προσωπικα το βρισκω σχετικα ομορφο αμαξι και πρακτικοτατο....Κι απο τη στιγμη που εχω ενα γρηγορο BMW στο γκαραζ μου,γιατι να μην εχω ενα βολικοτατο πολυμορφικο που να εχει την οδηγικη αισθηση που γουσταρω κι οχι την τεχνητη και αδιαφορη αισθηση ολων των υπολοιπων FORD,OPEL κτλ??Μου φαινεται παω για κλεισιμο παραγγελιας Active tourer diesel!!Ασε που εχει καλυτερους χωρους απο το τωρινο μου 316 Ε90....

Ενταξει με 2 παιδακια,μια χαρα ειναι το απλο!!!Το Grand μοιαζει και λιγο σαν λεωφορειακι και ειναι αβολο σαν μεγεθος εντος πολης.Το Active tο'δα απο κοντα,ενταξει δεν με τρελαινει εξωτερικα,αλλα εντος ειναι πολυ αναβαθμισμενο,σαφως καλυτερο απο Ε90 και εχει καποιες λεπτομερειες που πραγματικα το αναβαθμιζουν,οπως πχ τα συρομενα μπρος-πισω καθισματα στους ΠΙΣΩ επιβατες!!Εχει πορτ παγκαζ 420 λιτρων+70 λιτρα απο κατω+μερικα ακομα αν συρεις τα καθισματα τερμα μπροστα οπου και παλι ειναι ανετες για ενηλικες.......Το πισω μερος του μοιαζει με τα καινουρια Χ-series,ενω μπροστα με τις 3αρες.....

Η κουλτούρα όλης της βορειοδυτικής Ευρώπης είναι τα station
55-60% σε πωλήσεις ενός μοντέλου είναι station λόγω πρακτικότητας ως επί το πλείστον...
Σε καμία περίπτωση δεν θέλω να σ αλλάξω γνώμη, απλά κουβέντα να γίνεται!

Το καλοβλέπω ως αντικατάσταση εντός Nissan Qashqai πρώτης γενιάς που έχω...
