As the first premium vehicle of its kind, the BMW X1 is a true trailblazer in the compact segment. After some two-and-a-half years, sales of the compact BMW X model built at BMW Plant in Leipzig and in Tiexi, China have already exceeded 275 000 units. Now this all-round talent emerges with renewed vigour to meet a raft of new challenges. With its specially modified body design, meticulously upgraded interior, comprehensively revised engine portfolio, the new range of BMW Lines and further innovative equipment features, the new BMW X1 delivers an even more intensive experience of the hallmark driving pleasure for which the brand is known.

In parallel with the launch of the new BMW X1, preparations are under way for its US market launch. Further growth impulses emanate from production in China: the new BMW X1 models destined for the Chinese market are being built in the newly opened plant at Tiexi in Shenyang Province.

The successful concept of transferring familiar BMW X features to the compact segment has since led to increased competition in the vehicle class spawned by the BMW X1. What remains uncontested is the BMW X1’s leadership position in terms of sportiness and efficiency. This lead is now being extended: the relationship between performance and fuel consumption has been further optimised thanks to engines with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, an eight-speed automatic transmission that is unique in this segment, the Auto Start-Stop function, Brake Energy Regeneration, ECO PRO mode and a wider range of BMW EfficientDynamics technology. Setting a particularly impressive example here is the BMW X1 sDrive20d EfficientDynamics Edition with average fuel consumption in the EU test cycle of 4.5 litres per 100 kilometres (62.7 mpg) and CO2 figures of 119 grams per kilometre.

The range of engines for the new BMW X1 comprises three petrol and five diesel units spanning an output range of 85 kW/116 hp to 180 kW/245 hp. Leading the way in the new generation of four-cylinder diesel engines is the 160 kW/218 hp powerplant of the new BMW X1 xDrive25d, featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo technology comprising latest-generation variable sequential turbocharging. Depending on the model variant, power is transferred via brand-typical rear-wheel drive or via the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive system. Either option is available to three of the engine variants of the new BMW X1.

The new BMW X1 also offers innovative individualisation possibilities for the exterior and the interior. Available for the first time, as an alternative to the basic trim level, are the BMW Lines with their exclusive, harmoniously matched design and equipment features. The BMW xLine particularly emphasises the robust versatility of the new BMW X1 while the BMW Sport Line accentuates its agility and dynamics.

Munich. A further chapter has been added to the success story of the BMW X models. In a matter of two-and-a-half years, the BMW X1 has notched up worldwide sales of more than 300,000 units. Since its market launch in autumn 2009, the first – and for a long time only – vehicle of its kind in the premium compact segment has conquered a steadily expanding fan base and scooped up a host of awards. The tremendous popularity enjoyed by the BMW X1 both in its home country and in numerous car markets around the world is fresh proof of the sheer appeal of the vehicle concept embodied by the BMW X models. This compact all-rounder entered the market as the fourth member of the BMW X family and rapidly advanced from a trailblazer to a bestseller.

The stand-out position of the BMW X1 is also reflected in the many national and international prizes bestowed on the compact BMW X model in recognition of its design, driving characteristics and high safety levels. Immediately after its market launch, the BMW X1 was voted off-roader of the year in the “Crossover” category by readers of “OFF ROAD” magazine. Almost simultaneously, Italian magazine “Quattroruote” proclaimed it “New car of the year 2010”. The
BMW X1 was also instantly awarded the “Auto Trophy” by the German publication “Auto Zeitung”, and in the following year picked up the “Design Trophy” from the same magazine, the “red dot award” for outstanding product design, and the “Auto Bild Design Award” in the “SUV, Van and All-Wheel-Drive” category. In the “Wertmeister 2010” (Value Champions) rankings, also published by “Auto Bild”, the BMW X1 came top of its class by virtue of its high product quality and popularity. The highest possible score of five stars in the Euro NCAP crash test, moreover, confirmed the outstanding occupant protection and comprehensive safety features provided by the BMW X1.

In a competitive environment now also inhabited by other premium carmakers, the BMW X1 remains compelling for its agile handling, exemplary efficiency and extraordinary versatility. With a choice of five diesel and three petrol engines and an output ranging from 85 kW/116 hp to 180 kW/245 hp, it offers the most wide-ranging engine portfolio in its segment. Boasting the most favourable ratio of driving enjoyment to fuel efficiency is the BMW X1 sDrive20d EfficientDynamics Edition with output of 120 kW/163 hp and average fuel consumption in the EU test cycle of 4.5 litres per 100 kilometres (62.8 mpg imp) combined with CO2 emissions of 119 grams per kilometre.

As well as engines featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and the optional eight-speed automatic transmission, the highlights of the BMW X1 also include BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive. The most powerful petrol and diesel engines each come as standard with this electronically controlled, variable power distribution system. xDrive is available for a further three models as an alternative to the typical BMW rear-wheel drive that is likewise unique in this vehicle class.

Various premium equipment features and innovative functions from
BMW ConnectedDrive underline the progressive character of the BMW X1. The range of functions which – thanks to intelligent integration – provide optimum convenience, safety and in-car infotainment possibilities include services that are unrivalled by the competition, such as the BMW Assist telephone information service and Real Time Traffic Information. Beyond this, the integration of the Apple iPhone in conjunction with the BMW Apps option allows the reception of internet radio stations and the use of Facebook and Twitter in the car.

The interior of the BMW X1 provides five full-size seats and carrying capacity offering a wide range of different uses. By folding down the standard 40:20:40 split-folding rear seat bench, luggage space can be extended from 420 to 1,350 litres.

Αθήνα. Η νέα έκδοση της BMW X1 xDrive με κινητήρα 2.0lt βρίσκεται αυτές τις μέρες στο εμπορικό κέντρο Golden Hall. Συγκεκριμένα, μέχρι και τις αρχές Φεβρουαρίου του 2013, οι επισκέπτες του Golden Hall, θα έχουν τη δυνατότητα να γνωρίσουν από κοντά τη νέα BMW X1 xDrive 20i.

Επιπλέον, η ομάδα της BMW Hellas θα προσφέρει στους επισκέπτες τη δυνατότητα ενημέρωσης σχετικά με τα τεχνικά χαρακτηριστικά του μοντέλου, καθώς και πληροφορίες που αφορούν την επικοινωνία των ενδιαφερόμενων με το Δίκτυο Επίσημων Εμπόρων της BMW Hellas, για θέματα τιμών, δοκιμαστικής οδήγησης και λοιπών στοιχείων.

Η BMW X1 xDrive 20i αντλεί ισχύ από το νέο τετρακύλινδρο βενζινοκινητήρα, με BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology, που αποδίδει μέγιστη ισχύ 184 hp και μέγιστη ροπή 270 Nm με μηχανικό και αυτόματο κιβώτιο ταχυτήτων. Την ισχύ μεταφέρει στους τροχούς ένα εξατάχυτο μηχανικό (στάνταρ), ή ένα οκτατάχυτο αυτόματο κιβώτιο (προαιρετικό). Xρειάζεται 7,8 δεύτερα με μηχανικό κιβώτιο για να επιταχύνει από 0 στα 100 km/h και 7,9 δεύτερα με αυτόματο, ενώ η τελική ταχύτητα είναι 205 km/h και για τους δύο τύπους κιβωτίων.

Επιπρόσθετα, η BMW X1 20i, έχει μέση κατανάλωση καυσίμου 7,5 lt./100km (7,1 με το αυτόματο), ενώ οι εκπομπές CO2 με μηχανικό κιβώτιο ταχυτήτων αγγίζουν τα 176 g/km (167 g/km με αυτόματο), στον Ευρωπαϊκό κύκλο δοκιμών.
Η βασική έκδοση της BMW Χ1 xDrive 20i με πλούσιο εξοπλισμό ξεκινάει από 31.449€ με όφελος απόσυρσης.
