Driving pleasure in tenths of a second and m/s²: You drive. The BMW M Power Meter measures.

Using integrated movement sensors, your iPhone or iPod Touch can record the performance data of your driving. For example, your fastest quarter of a mile, your best 0 to 100 km/h time or your highest speed in a bend. And because the last ten results are saved, you are able to compare your performance with others.

This is how it works: you need to position your iPhone in your vehicle as described below and start the BMW Power Meter Application. Select your preferred mode: continual monitoring or acceleration to a specific speed or over a specified distance. The following data can be displayed in real time:

- Speed (mph / km/h)
- Forward acceleration (Forward g)
- Lateral acceleration (Lateral g)
- Travel time for a specified distance (e.g. 100 m)
- Acceleration to a specific speed (e.g. 0 - 200 km/h)

Measurement begins as soon as you start driving.

To ensure the measurements are as accurate as possible, please note the following:

- The vehicle must be stationary to start recording the measurements
- The measurements should be recorded on a level road without steep inclines
- The iPhone should either be upright (e.g. in a holder) or laid flat facing the exact direction you are driving in to ensure the measurements are accurate
- Once the iPhone is in place, press "Start" and accept the conditions screen by pressing "Accept”. Then commence driving, The iPhone should remain stationary during the measurement.
- Then accelerate until you have reached the target speed or until you have covered the specified distance.

So disappointed! The results are questionable (at best), the graphics are ok, but the whole app just lacks the luster of the BMW brand. This feels hacked together. It's buggy and there are a variety of spelling and odd grammatical mistakes. For instance, from the instructions: "The small 1x1 of the BMW M Power Meter."... uh what? Why does it feel like BMW doesn't take the app store seriously and feels like littering it with more crap instead of spending a little money to build high quality apps that are real show-pieces in the app store.

I own a 325i, and I'm happy that BMW spends their time and energy on building cars instead of iPhone apps, because this app is a total lemon. Its only saving grace is that it was free. Bottom line, save your bandwidth and move on from this one.

There are literally a dozen performance apps in the app store. Every single one of them is more accurate than this dog. A run in Rev and in Dynolicious gives me a 0-60 of about 7 seconds, same stretch of road using this app? 10 seconds, and I made the run twice with the same result.

μα είπα και εγώ... εδώ με εξοπλισμό και εξοπλισμό και σίγουρος δεν είσαι.
Τώρα για τα ορθογραφικά φανταστήτε να υπήρχε και έκδοση στα Ελληνικά

Νίκο υπάρχουν 2 τέτοια προγράματα για το Iphone, οπως είπαν και τα παιδιά... Κυκλοφορουν σπασμένα και τα 2.... Το γνωρίζω το πρόγραμμα αυτό από την κοπή της πίτας όπου στο κινητό του Πανοζ το είδα και στην πράξη.... Καλό γκατζετάκι για κάποιον που θέλει να δει το "χαρά" μπορεί να του προσφέρει το αμάξι του... κυρίως όμως μέσα στην πίστα!!

Το μόνο που μένει δηλ. είναι τα γραφικά και το ότι είναι free;

Καλά εάν είσαι τυχαιρός και δουλέψει καλά τότε μπορεί να πάρεις καμιά μέτρηση με +/-30% τουλάχιστον σφάλμα. Το ωραίο είναι που όταν μετρήσει μικρό 0-100 τότε σου βγάζει: "...you r really in an m car...". Μην ζηλεύεται όσοι δεν έχεται iphone είναι τόσο μάπα το application όσο τα x5 - x6 M που δείχνει στο start up.

Έχω δουλέψει το dynolicious σε iphone, αυτά τα προγράμματα βασίζονται σε ενσωματωμένο g meter που έχει το iphone, η "ακρίβεια" του είναι απλά τραγική, δεν το θεωρώ καν σύστημα μέτρησης, παιχνιδάκι είναι :)

Υ.Γ. : Ξέχασα να αναφέρω ότι για να δουλέψουν αυτές οι εφαρμογές πρέπει να γνωρίζεις το βάρος του αυτοκινήτου με τον οδηγό μέσα, μόνο τότε υπάρχει περίπτωση να βγάλει μετρήσεις με ακρίβεια +-20%....

παιδες εγω στο PPC μου εχω βαλει το race crono το οποιο ειναι freeware λειτουργει με gps και εχει τρελες δυνατοτητες πιστευω πως δεν υπαρχει κατι αντιστοιχο.

ειναι ενα τσαμπα performance box ριξτε μια ματια στο site του http://www.racechrono.com/ αξιζει.
εκει θα δειτε αν κανει και για το κινητο σας. μετραει τα παντα με ακριβεια και δειχνει αποτελεσματα απο γραμμες που πηρες στην πιστα μεχρι και μετρησεις 0-100, 0-400,........ και εξαγει αποτελασματα απο το exsel μεχρι to google earth....

για δειτε λιγο και θα με θυμηθείτε:clap:

Χωρις να το εχω κατεβασει και να το εχω δουλεψει, δεν νομιζω οτι φταιει το application οσο το κακο και αργο gps που εχει το i-phone. Στους χαρτες που εχει μεσω google-map βλεπεις ποσο μεγαλη καθυστερηση εχει να ακολουθηση το στιγμα σου!!!

Παρ'ολα αυτα θα το κατεβασω για παιχνιδακι!!!

Δεν λειτουργεί μέσω του GPS, μέσω του g meter του iphone δουλευέι... Όπως και το dynolicious.

Όσον αφορά το racechrono, δουλεύει τέλεια, μόνο αν συνδυαστεί με εξωτερική κεραία GPS bluetooth, με συχνότητα ανανέωσης μεγαλύτερη του 1Hz που είναι οι ενσωματωμένες των κινητών.

Και όμως το gps του OMNIA εχει φοβερή ακρίβεια.

Το i-phone δεν έχει gps -reciever έχει να δεν κάνω λάθως a-gps που λειτουργεί υπλογίζοντας την απόσταση απο τις κεραίες του δυκτίου και η ακρίβεια είναι ΠΟΛΥ κακή....
